Shuler-Marshall Funeral Home - Holly Hill Obituary

Celebration of Life Services will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2013, at 11:00 am, at the Galilee Christian Church, (DOC), 1563 Coach Road, Holly Hill, South Carolina, with the Reverend Charlie Goodman, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the New Galilee Christian Church Cemetery.

Mr. Willie J. Johnson, the son of the late Minister Samuel and Lillia Johnson, Sr., was born on November 24, 1943 in Tallahassee, Florida. He was called into eternal rest and peace on Thursday, July 4, 2013 at Trident Regional Medical Center in Charleston, South Carolina.

He attended the public school system of Miami, Florida. During his high school career at George Washington High School, he participated in the band and ran track. He graduated in 1962. He was a professional truck driver for fifty-one years before his retirement from Landmark Construction in 2005.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his devoted fiance, Ms. Gladys F. Smith, of the home; two step-daughters, Ophelia Smith, of Holly Hill, South Carolina and Onetha (Reginald) Middleton, of Orangeburg, South Carolina; six sons: Anthony Johnson and Craig Johnson, of Miami, Florida, Allen (Lovelynn) Johnson, of Port Hueneme, California, William Tony Johnson and James Johnson, both of Moncks Corner, South Carolina and Sylvester (Yolonda) Johnson, of Atlanta, Georgia; one daughter, Pamela Johnson, of Miami, Florida; one brother, Samuel (Deloris) Johnson, Jr., of Miami, Florida; one sister, Lillie Tillman, of Miami, Florida; three aunts, Cherry Danzy, of Tallahassee, Florida, Annie Virginia Plummer and Natalie Henry, of Florida; one uncle, Emanuel James, of Winter Haven, Florida; twelve grandchildren, one great-grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
