Alexander Funeral Home, Inc. - Charlotte Obituary

Elisha Kevin Braithwaite was born January 27th, 1964 to Gertrude Sturdivant and Elisha Braithwaite in Queens, NY.

Elisha graduated from Louis Brandeis high school in 1982 and earned his Bachelor's degree years later in Business Administration at Felician College.

Elisha grew up in Queensbridge "QB," where he made many lifelong friends. In his younger days, he was in a group "Everlovin 3 MC's" where he was given his nickname of Kev-ski and you could not tell Kevin he couldn't rap while carrying his boom box! Elisha never forgot where he came from, always represented QB and was a true GIANTS fan.

Elisha retired from the Federal Reserve Bank of New York after a 30 year career in March 2020 as an Assistant Manager.  He was an inspiration to many that crossed his path. Upon retirement Elisha enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, exploring cigar lounges, listening to music and pursuing his passion for photography. On nice days you can find Elisha cooking on the grill, smoking cigars, and listening to music with his wife, neighbors, and family in the backyard. He was cool, calm, laid back, shared his knowledge and  wisdom to many, and loved telling jokes that would always have you laughing.  Elisha had an unconditional love for his wife of 31 years, children, grandchildren, siblings, and nieces & nephews. He shared a special bond with his one daughter, and always had his shotgun ready. In his leisure time he enjoyed riding his CAN-AM with his son and new riders he met in North Carolina.

He leaves to cherish many endearing memories: Wife, Sharon; four Sons, Tyreem (Kathleen), Kevin (Teril), Elisha, Keron "KJ" and one Daughter, Shanise; eight Grandchildren; Jayden, Ariana, Mia, Kadence, Amir, London, Kenzie, and Milan "Mimi." Two Sisters; Denise (Juan), Elise, one Brother; Michael (Adrianne) and a host of nieces, nephews, aunt, uncle, and special friends.
