Services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Antioch Baptist Church in Leakesville, for Mr. John T. "Johnny" Booth, age 75, of Leakesville.  Mr. Booth passed from this life on February 28, 2023 at his residence.  Bro. Paul Walters and Bro. David Clark will officiate the service with burial to follow in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be James Green, John "Peanut" Booth, Micah Booth, William Dale Green, Mark Stanley, Damian Miller, and Butch Dueitt.

John T. Booth was born on August 15, 1947 to James (Fate) and Lavaughn Booth.  He was one of 16 children.  He was married to his wife of 45 years, Betty A. Booth, on February 10, 1978.

John T., known as Johnny to family and friends, loved to hunt and fish and was known to have a good time.  He worked at the Alabama state docks for 36 years as a mechanic.  He loved to work on rebuilding cars for his children to drive.  The girls would tell him a clunker car to get them to school would always beat the yellow bus.  He was generous to anyone that needed help.  Johnny was not a church person but he knew the Lord.  He retired to work on the farm and loved to work in the hay fields and loved his cows and dogs.

Johnny loved his grandson, Garrett, and rode him around in the tractor to the fields as well as taught him to work on the farm.  Brandee loved to mechanic with him.  Crystal loved him for always being there to talk with and help out.  Tracy kept him on his toes with automobiles.  Betty so enjoyed the fishing trips and time to just sit and talk.  Jonanne and Lacee loved to have him pick on them, Brody and Lily, too.

Johnny had tales of his life at home with his brothers, sisters and all his friends and the things they had done.  His love for his mother showed the most.  He was always looking for her during his time with dementia.

Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, James "Fate" and Lavaughn Booth, daughter, Lori Booth Schultz; granddaughter, Hannah Bedgood; in laws, Ernest "Peanut" and Opal Miller, Bill Miller, Barbara Miller, and Brenda Miller.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Miller Booth; daughters, Tracy (Shannon) Walley, Brandee (Arnold) Valentine, and Crystal (Laren) Turner; son, Joey Booth; grandchildren, Garrett (Ally) Courtney, Jonanne Turner, Lacee Valentine, Brody Walley, Lily Walley, Sarah Schultz, and Emily Schultz; great granddaughter, Emery Ann Courtney; Betty's siblings, Ernie (Joyce) Miller, Tony (Teana) Miller, and Beverly Miller; brothers, James (Sambo) Booth, Ray Mac Booth, Jerry Booth, Ricky Booth, and Malcolm (Kristie) Booth; sisters, Martha Green, Edna Scoggins, Barbara (Gerald) Walley, Carol (William) Roberts, Sandra (Woody) Jones, Virginia Roberts, Sherry (Mark) Bynum, Tracy (Narvin) Bradley, Sue (Glenn) Davis, and Wilda Woods.

Johnny was blessed to have his family by his side at his death at home.  God was so good, no more hospitals and no more dementia.  Thanks to Enhabit Health and Hospice for Johnny's care the last 14 months from accidents and his passing.

Visitation will be at on Saturday, March 4, 2023 from 12:30 - 2:30, also at the church.
