Graveside services for Mr. Joseph M. "Joe" Lovelace, age 87, of Mobile, Alabama will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 3, 2025 at County Line Baptist Church Cemetery in State Line, Mississippi.  Mr. Lovelace passed from this life on July 28, 2025 at his residence.  Bro. Mitchell Smith will officiate the services.  Serving as pallbearers will be Scott Wells, Troy Robertson, Rusty Robertson, Roger Michael, Shane Walker, and Gayle Miller as alternate.


Mr. Lovelace, a devoted family man and respected member of several communities, leaves behind a legacy of hard work, passion, and service.  He was the retired owner of Fact-O-Bake Paint and Body Shop in Doraville, Georgia. A dedicated craftsman and businessman, he earned a reputation for excellence and honesty in his work. After retiring from the automotive business, he continued his career with Walcom Geo Paint Guns, where he served as North American Regional Manager.  An active and proud Mason, Mr. Lovelace was a member of the Scottish Rite in Atlanta and served on the esteemed Precision Marching Team. He was also a past president of the Atlanta Model Boaters, where he shared his passion for the sport with fellow enthusiasts.  Flying was another love of his — he was a licensed pilot for 34 years. His adventurous spirit carried into other ventures as well, including co-owning Checker Flag Speedway, a go-kart racing track in State Line, Mississippi, which he ran alongside his sons.  Mr. Lovelace will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his love of machines and motion, and his tireless work ethic.


He was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Marie Robertson Lovelace; son, Joseph O'Neil Lovelace; and parents, Harold and Ethel Lovelace.


He is survived by his son, John Howard (Evelyn) Lovelace of Mobile; grandchildren, Brandon Lovelace of Atlanta, GA and Ashley (Chad) Manning of Yulee, FL; 4 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
