Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at Hickory Grove Holiness Church for Mr. Randolph "Randy" Byrd, age 73, of Richton.  Mr. Byrd passed from this life on June 3, 2022 at Forrest General Hospital.  Bro. Evans Freeman and Bro. Douglas Manning will officiate the service with burial following in Hickory Grove Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be David Brewer, Justin Garris, Charles Brewer, Scott Elmore, Bruce Davis, Wayne Harrison, Brian Bishop, Phillip Nicholson, and Blaine Elmore. 


Mr. Byrd was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Alice Brewer Byrd; second wife, Audrey Byrd; parents, O. L. and Selma Byrd; son, Oliver Byrd; brothers, Don Byrd, Clifton Byrd, and Tom Byrd; sister, Nancy Pollinger; and step-father, Clyde Powell.


He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Carroll Byrd of Richton; daughter, Cecelia (David) Weeks of Richton; step-son, Scott (Beth) Elmore of Richton; step-daughter, Tonia (Wayne) Harrison of Richton; grandson, Justin Garris of Hattiesburg; step-grandchildren, Kanah Raine Chapman, Cooper Chapman, Luke Chapman, Logan Overstreet, Justin Overstreet, Bryce Mathis, Add Mathis, Ashley Morris, Blaine Elmore, Mica Myrick, Haley Hopkins, Logan Howard, and Phillip Nicholson; 12 great grandchildren; and brothers, Jerry (Rebecca) Byrd of Richton, Harold "Nig" (Elaine) Byrd of Richton, and Raymond Byrd of Laurel.


Mr. Byrd was a member of Hickory Grove Holiness Church. He was a retired equipment operator with MDOT where he worked for over 16 years.


Visitation will be Tuesday, June 7, 2022, from 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. at Hickory Grove Holiness Church at 872 Brewertown Road, Waynesboro.
