Mrs. Bernice Wright Sims, daughter of the late Thomas Wright and Mattie Lee Davis Wright was born on September 4, 1950 and entered into eternal rest at The Regional Medical Center on June 24, 2019.


Mrs. Bernice grew up in Vance, South Carolina. She was educated in the Orangeburg County District 3 public school system .


She joined Rock Hill African Methodist Episcopal Church at a young age.She was later united in marriage with Mr. Robert Sims.


Mrs. Bernice was employed by Family Dollar in Holly Hill for 33 years.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Robert Sims; her brother, Gerald Wright and her sister, Vernell Wright.


Those left to cherish loving memories are: two sons: Dwayne Sims, of the home and Byron (LaVonya) Sims, of Vance, South Carolina; eight grandchildren: Braelin Sims, Tykeria Sims, Alexxus Sims, Diamond Sims and Diwaysha Sims, Madison White, Tarey White and Toby White; one aunt, Ms. Leatha Mae Wright, of Detroit, Michigan; seven sisters: Jeanette Wright, Elizabeth Wright, Barbara (Lonnie) Benjamin and Vernetta Wright, all of Vance, South Carolina, Leatha Taste, of Santee, South Carolina, Brenda Gadson, of Eutawville, South Carolina, Deloris (Dickey) Rhodes, of Orangeburg, South Carolina; three brothers: Thomas Lee Wright, of Orangeburg, South Carolina, Melvin Wright, of Honolulu, Hawaii and Andrew (Shavonne) Wright, of Vance, South Carolina; one sister-in-law, JoeAnn Sims, of Columbia, South Carolina; two brothers-in-law, John Sims and Tommy Sims, of Columbia, South Carolina; two special friends, Gussie Jamison and Earline Davis Washington and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.


Friends may call at the residence, 115 Natalie Drive, Vance and at the funeral home.
