Mrs. Marvin B Winston

Mrs. Marvin B. Winston passed peacefully in Hampton, VA at the glorious age of 94. She was the last of her siblings. Marvin never met a stranger and never missed the opportunity to feed a person if they crossed her path. She never held a grudge and was full of knowledge. Marvin who was to be Marvina, but thanks to the time she was born in, it ended up as "Marvin". 

Marvin started school in Kinston NC, and finished in Hampton, VA. Marvin entered into the nursing field as a CNA and worked her way up to become the Administrator at the retirement home called Rest Haven in Hampton, Virginia owned by the Order of Tents where she was also a member early in her adult life. She went on to become an Administrator with A.A.R.P (Jobs for Senior Branch), which was located at Fort Monroe in Hampton, Virginia. During her years, she would always give to the homeless and anyone in need. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.       

Marvin was born in Kinston, NC; to the late Luevinia Phillips Bryant and John Bryant. Those who preceded her in death sons Joel Dobson (Carolyn), and Kenneth Dobson, grandchildren Timothy Wilson, and Titanisha Johnson. Those she leave to cherish her memories, children Carolyn Wilson Mourland (Attony  III & Kerry), Patricia Hardy, Frances Johnson (Larry), Frank Winston (Martha), Eric Winston (Jackie); grandchildren Attony (Tony) Wilson IV, Kia Fennell (Red), Twala Thompson (Vonley), Andre Mayo, Tina Dobson, Tomeka Record (Darrell), Antone Winston, Francessia Winston, Gabriel, Almira, Raphael and Justin Dobson, Lamar Winston, Terell and Tyrone Whiting, Darrell Carmichael, Courtney Taylor, Jahlil, Nyla and Creeden Winston, Keyon Wilson and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and  family and friends.

Viewing will be held Wednesday July 16, 2025 from 3pm-5pm at funeral home. Service will be held Thursday July 17, 2025 @11am at Nickelson-Cummings F.H. Interment will follow at Hampton National Cemetery (Hampton Univ. Campus Location).
