                                                                 10:00 a.m.

On Oct. 13, 2023, Carole M. Strickland passed away peacefully at the age of 81. Although in recent years she had lived in New Braunfels, TX, she was a long-time resident of Moselle, MS which she always considered home. Carole was born on August 3, 1942 in Mobile, AL to the late Carrie Elizabeth McElhaney and G. B. Riels.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 36 years Johnnie Wayne Strickland in 2001, her brother Butch McElhany, as well as her cousins Allen Herrington in 2013 and Alice Ashmore in 2023.

She is survived by her sons Dr. Johnnie W. Strickland (Chrystal), Randy L. Strickland (Lora), James “Bo” Strickland (Tina), daughter Dr. Carrie D. Strickland; seven grandchildren Lauren, Joshua, Jennifer, Caleb, Ethan, Megan, and Ashli; as well as her sister Gail White (Tony). Additionally, she had been looking forward to welcoming her first great-grandchild Mateo in November.

Carole will also be greatly missed by her extended family James D. Ashmore II and cousins Bonnie Kent (Larry), Lois George (Randall), Hugh Herrington (Paula), George Herrington (Mary Anna) as well as their children, especially Jonathan, Michael, Misty, April and Alisha, all with whom she played endless hours of Pinochle.

Graveside services will be held at Moselle Memorial Gardens Cemetery on Nov. 4, 2023, at 10 AM. Bro. Hiram Eaves will officiate. Arrangements are being handled by Jones Funeral Home in Moselle.
