J.W. Williams Funeral Home, Inc. - Cordele Obituary

Mrs. Mary Ellen Brown Kendrick of 435 East Bay Street, Pineview, Georgia died Friday, April 17, 2020 at Regency Hospital in Macon, Georgia.

The graveside funeral service to be attended by immediate family ONLY will be held Friday, April 24, 2020 at the Mount Air Church Cemetery in Hawkinsville, Georgia.

Our beloved mother, Mrs. Mary Ellen Brown Kendrick was welcomed to this world on December 5, 1943 in Wilcox County,  Georgia.  She was born to the late Mr. Diona Brown and the late Mrs. Ruthie S. Brown.

She was educated in the public school system of Wilcox County where she was a graduate of Wilcox County High School.

Committing her life to the service of the Lord, she united with the Mount Air Baptist Church.  She served faithfully as the Mother of the Church and willingly served whenever called upon.

“Aunt Mary,” as she was known in the community, enjoyed preparing Sunday meals.  It was always a special time for her.  She  welcomed the opportunity to cook and be with her family.  She also took great pride in babysitting her great grandchildren.  She also loved to go fishing.

She would often busy herself by visiting her best friend and ride around town.  She also loved taking care of her  dog, “Tinker Bell,” which was the joy of her heart.

On Friday, April 17, 2020, she left this world to journey to a place of no sickness, sorrow, or pain.  Her husband, Mr. Floyd Lee Kendrick, her daughter, Ms. Sandra Milner, her great granddaughter, Lakiya, and her siblings, Mrs. Burnice Grace, Mrs. Dorothy Jean Johnson, Ms. Clara Jo Brown, Mrs. Betty Reid, Mr. Willie James Brown, and Mr. Freddie Miller, each precede her in death.

Precious memories will live on in the heart of her loving and devoted children, Mr. Tyrone Milner of Augusta, Georgia, Mr. J. B. (Tanylon) Crowder of Pineview, Georgia, Mr. Patrick (Mattie) Milner of Hawkinsville, Georgia, and Mrs. Felicia (Stokely) Cheese of Warner Robins, Georgia; her caring companion, Mr. Lonnie B. King of Pineview, Georgia; her loving grandchildren, Anquanette Allen Johnson, Antowan Milner, Kennedy Tyrin Milner, Travis Leonard Collins, Jr., Ja’Kail Bernard Crowder, Emmanuel Lee Milner, Cedric B. Porter, and Travis L. Collins; her great grands, A’myrah, Ramir, Kalice, Elijah, Cedric Jr., and Royale; her loving sisters, Mrs. Ruby Lee Lawson of Davenport, Florida and Ms. Janie Sue Brown of Hawkinsville, Georgia; a beloved brother, Mr. Joe (June) Miller of Pineview, Georgia;  four sisters-in-law; eight brothers-in-law; a host of nieces and nephews, to include her special nieces, Mrs. Mary Pitts, Ms. Shalanda Pitts, and Ms. Barbara Miller all of Hawkinsville, Georgia; a host of cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends, to include her best friend, Mrs. Frances Grace of Pineview, Georgia.
