Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, October 3, 2021, for Mrs. Venita Ann Shoemake White, age 95, of Madison, AL, formerly of Pascagoula.  Mrs. White passed from this life on October 1, 2021 at her daughter's home in Vincent, AL.  Bro. Rodney Smith will officiate the service with burial following in the Mt. Olive Cemetery.


Mrs. White was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. White; infant daughter, Susan White; son, Robert Steve White; parents, Charley and Lettie Shoemake; brothers, Vernon Shoemake, Marcus Shoemake and Marlon Shoemake.  She is survived by her daughter, Linda Ann (Gary) Wildman of Germantown, TN; son, Timothy (Marcia) White of Madison, AL; daughter-in-law, Linda Kay White of Vincent, AL; sister, Bernice English of Raleigh, NC; 8 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.


Venita grew up in the Whitfield community in Jones County, MS.  She married her childhood sweetheart, the late Robert C. White, after he returned from WWII.  Robert and Venita settled after a few years in Pascagoula, where he worked at Ingalls Shipbuilding for forty years.  She raised Linda (class of '65), Steve (class of '70), and Timothy (class of '83).  The family were long-time members of Pascagoula First United Methodist Church.


Visitation will be Sunday, October 3, 2021, 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. at Mt. Olive United Methodist Church in Ovett.


In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Billy Graham Association or the Samaritan's Purse.
