Wilson Funeral Home - Tampa Obituary

A celebration of life service for Ms. Erin Marie Pittman, who passed away on August 20, 2025, will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at 12:00 noon at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel, 3000 N. 29th Street, Tampa, Florida 33605, with Reverend James E. Richardson officiating. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, 4615 W. Hanna Avenue, Tampa, Florida 33610. The family would like to advise that there will be no repast. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025, at Wilson Funeral Home from 3:00pm - 8:00pm. 


Ms. Erin Marie Pittman was born on November 13, 1976, in Tampa, Florida to Dorothy Johnson and Edward Lee Pittman. She accepted the Lord Jesus Christ at an early age. Ms. Pittman was educated in the public school system of Hillsborough County. Erin worked for the State of Florida in the Department of Revenue for over 15 years. Erin peacefully passed away at her residence on Wednesday, August 20, 2025. 


Erin was preceded in death by her father, Edward Lee Pittman; maternal grandmother, Mary Ann White Johnson; grandfather, Leroy Johnson Jr.; uncles, Coolidge Johnson, Arthur James Johnson and Lester Rogers; aunt, Georgia Mae Johnson; cousin, Sherrell Moore and cherished goddaughter, Savannah Mathis. 


She leaves to honor her precious memories with her loving and caring mother, Dorothy Johnson; devoted sisters, Sonia Harrell and Dr. April Nelson (Tony) of Westlake, OH; doting nieces, Kiyara Marshall and Malika Harrell; caring nephews, Eric Hamilton Jr, Jeremiah Hamilton and Naaman Harrell; treasured great-niece, Kaylin Marshall; aunts, Mildred Johnson, Evelyn Rogers, Darquita Monroe, Shenita Evans (all of Tampa, FL),  Barbara Freemon (Riviera Beach, FL) and family, Catherine Freeman (Riviera Beach, FL) and family, Carol Pritchard (Riviera Beach, FL) and family; uncles, David Rogers (Beverly aka Cookie) of Bradenton, FL and family, Leroy Johnson III  (Ohio) ; beloved best friend, LaMaria Smith; goddaughter, Nena Mathis; dear friends of the family, Nicole Davis Monroe (Rick) of Fort Worth, TX, Hylon, Linda and Kiyana Moon; special friends, Scott Stefan of Connecticut, Vivian Robinson of Vermont, Davaria Jones, Nikki Bradford, Cheryl Woodall, Romaine Wright and her dear team at the Department of Revenue along with a great host of family and other friends too numerous to mention. If any names were inadvertently omitted, the family extends their apologies.

I will miss you. It was my pleasure meeting and experiencing your friendship this lifetime. I thank you and love you for that. Thanks for including me on your final visit to say to good bye.

Erin was such an amazingly positive and easygoing person. Our team was so fortunate to enjoy working with her and will miss her tremendously. We will not be the same without her and we are all better for having spent some precious time with her.

I am very sorry to hear of Erin's passing. She left this world too soon. I hope her family finds comfort in her memory.
