The funeral service will be held Saturday, March 23, 2024 at 11:00 AM in the sanctuary of the Church of the Living God in Vienna, Georgia.  The burial will follow at the Vienna City Cemetery in Vienna, Georgia.

Our beloved, Ruth McClendon Anderson, was welcomed to this world on Friday, August 19, 1949 in Dooly County, Georgia.  She was born to the proud parentage of Edward McClendon, Sr. and Ethel McClendon.

Many valuable lessons were taught to her growing in the public schools of Dooly County.  She was a graduate of Vienna High & Industrial School.

She was introduced to Jesus Christ at an early age.  Her walk with the Lord was so very important to her.  As a member, she enjoyed the fellowship with others at the  Healing & Deliverance Church.

Early in her adult life, she was employed at the sewing factory. While she was known to be outspoken, she was also known for showing her beautiful smile and having a sweet spirit.  Both of which she enjoyed sharing with her family and others.

On Saturday, March 16, 2024, she peacefully slipped away.  Her parents and her son, Deon McClendon, precede her in death.

The memory of her life and her smile will forever be  cherished by her loving and devoted children, Andre (Angelia) McClendon of Byron, Georgia, Spencer McClendon of Vienna, Georgia, Roderigus (Peatrice) Anderson of Chesapeake, Virginia, and Lakisha (Johnny) Hardrick of Vienna, Georgia; her beloved grandchildren, Johntavious Hardrick, Jolishia Hardrick, Johnathan (Destiny) Hardrick, Jovarius Hardrick, Rodrick Anderson, Christopher Felder, Jacoby Wade, Lerisco Spivey and Aniy’Ja Cephus; six great grandchildren; her loving sisters Evelyn (Willie B.) Barnes of Vienna, Georgia and Ola Everett of Atlanta, Georgia; her caring brothers, Eddie McClendon, Jr. of New York, Edward Nelson and Kevin (Dominque) Nelson of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Wayne Nelson of New York; her aunts and uncle, Jannie Mae Bates of Atlantic City, New Jersey and Jay Goose (Zeffie Adams) of Unadilla, Georgia; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
