Shona Marie Chisholm, beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, peacefully departed this life on April 22, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of strength, service, and unwavering love. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Walter and Mary Chisholm, Shona was the eldest of two children and is lovingly survived by her brother, Mark Chisholm, and his wife, Denise. She was born February 22, 1963, in Cleveland, OH.
From an early age, Shona embraced her faith, confessing Christ under the leadership of Pastor Smalls at Starlight Baptist Church. She carried that faith throughout her life, rededicating herself as an adult and exemplifying kindness, resilience, and devotion to those around her.
Shona graduated from Heights High School in Cleveland in 1981 before embarking on a distinguished 16-year career in the United States Navy, where she served honorably. Her dedication to service extended beyond her military tenure, as she spent 20 years at the Department of Veterans Affairs, continuing her mission of supporting fellow servicemen and women.
Amid her remarkable professional and personal journey, Shona’s compassion was boundless. While serving her country, she also selflessly cared for her mother during her battle with cancer—a testament to her unwavering love and fortitude.
Her memory will be cherished by her devoted brother Mark Chisholm and his wife, Denise; nieces Anesha Chisholm, Maryasia Chisholm, and Amari Devine (Nathaniel) and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Shona fought a good fight, finished her course, and kept the faith. She now rests in eternal peace with her LORD and Savior Jesus Christ. Her love and light will be forever carried by those she leaves behind.
