Jim was the course NCOIC or Chief when I first came to Fort Gordon for the first Air Force AN/TYC-39 Message Switch Operators Course in December 1982. I became one of his neighbors when I moved to Hephzibah and later became co-workers when became an instructor with GTE/GENERAL DYNAMICS on post. Good person with a good demeanor and personality in all of my dealings with him. Rest In Peace, Jim Byrd. Prayers and condolences to all of Jim‘s family.
