Not sure what to say?

I still miss you and love you Slava, All my best to the family. We would meet many times after concerts which I still treasure. I am so glad I got to see him play the Dvorak and Haydn concertos! And to conduct as wellPaul Sonosky

For Mstislav...When you played
the cello it was like
music for heaven.

WEEP NOT FOR ME

Do not weep for me when I no longer dwell among the wonders of the earth; for my larger self is free, and my soul rejoices on the other side of pain...on the other side of darkness.

Do not weep for me, for I am a ray of sunshine that touches your skin, a tropical breeze upon your face, the hush of joy within your heart and the innocence of babes in mothers...

Deepest condolences.

Please accept my deepest sympathies.

Mstilav Rostropovich was a giant not only on the stage of classical music, but as a world figure, as well. His genius on the cello coaxed the instrument's most tender, sweet and vibrant tones. Rest in Peace.

My Dear Slava, I just celebrated along with the rest of the world your 80th birthday last month and while doing so, reflected on how blessed I am to have known you through the gifts that God has given you. As a baby boomer, I have decided to pursue the gift of playing cello that God has bestowed upon me from my childhood. After recently hearing your recording of the Bach 6th Suite during your 60th birthday celebration, I knew that it was not too late for me to follow through on a dream...

Rest in Peace Maestro.

REST IN PEACE, MSTISLAV
