Read MoreMuriel was a special and dear friend. She took me under her wing in 1984 when I started working in Gen. Haig's office. I learned a great deal from Muriel and had a lot of good times with her. She will truly be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with her and her family.

I was Director of the White House Situation Room working for General Haig, although I always felt like I was working for Muriel. She was one of the kindest, most understanding, most professional individuals I have ever known and my life is so much better having been associated with her.
Although we had lost contact, she has been such a major infulence in my life, I've felt she's always been there. Thank you.
My thoughts and prayers are with her and her family.
