Muriel Lefkandinos Obituary
Muriel (nee Armistead) 88, of Toms River, formerly of Clifton NJ, on Saturday, July 25, 2015. Muriel was born to Robert and Isabelle Armistead in Jersey City, NJ. Beloved wife of the Late George Lefkandinos. Devoted mother of George James and his wife Doreen, Christine Hogh, Mark and his wife Karen, Thomas and his wife Donna, Lisa and her husband David Stephanick. Loving grandmother of Leighann, Kimberly, Brittany, Marcus, Adam, Tyler, Jason and Dylan. Dear sister of the late Robert and Barbara Armistead. Muriel was a retired School Teacher with the Saddle Brook Board of Education. The family will receive their friends at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ on Tuesday from 4 to 7PM, with a service at 6PM.

Mrs. Lefkandinos was always kind, but realistic, and it was obvious that she enjoyed her job - even when her students were not on their best behavior. I am sorry to hear of her passing - she was a terrific lady!

I am saddened by the news of Mrs. Lefkandinos passing. I had her as my H.S. Gym teacher and remember her smile and laugh. She taught me so much. What a great lady !

May I offer my deepest condolences to you. I was a colleague of Muriel at SBHS in my beginning years and remember her as a kind friendly person willing to help young teachers how ever she could. She was an excellent teacher helping so many, she will be missed.
