Not sure what to say?

I wish I had cared more and had been into his class when I was taking it. He was a funny guy and he had a lot of knowledge to offer. He had all kinds of funny things he said. I remember him saying this to a student who didn´t bring his homework to class: "You got a PacMan dog, huh? I´m kidding, I´m kidding." There were more witticisms he said, but I can´t remember them.

Looking back all those years ago It was an absolute honor and a privilege to have Mr. Huffman as a teacher. He was extremely dedicated to the school and all of the students. In my opinion he was one of the best Civics teachers to ever stand in front of a classroom. I’m glad I got to see him again at our 50th reunion.

My fondest memories of Murl are trips with The Social Science Club and appearances on his weekly TV show, "Headline Hunt." I don't know how many years it was on the air, but I was a member of the WCHS team, along with Jim Blasingame, Joanna Clouse, Jerry Coon, and Judy Randall. Jim was the leader of the group and dutifully brought us together to create and rehearse secret signals that served as short cuts so we could come out on top against teams from other high schools. I shall always treasure my memories of Murl from attending his classes at WCHS. I was fortunate to travel with him and the Junior Council on World Affairs twice to Washington, D.C. and New York City. This instilled in me the love of travel and learning about other cultures throughout the world.

Murl was a great teacher.

Murl was a friend who knew what to say and do when you were down. Always checking to make sure you were okay and doing well. He will be missed. Thoughts and prayers go to his family.

I was a student of Murl's in 1973 and still remember his presence in the classroom. I have even more vivid memories of him as our golf coach. That wonderful laugh at the end of our round was a reward in and of itself. The look on his face when the team won the SWBL tournament was truly a joy to behold. A truly good person willing to say the right thing when it needed to be said. He will be missed by all who knew him. My thoughts go out to his family.

You would not know me, but I came to know
Mr Huffman through my father, John Newberg. My father taught advanced math classes at West Carrollton High School while Mr Huffman taught civics. I went to Miamisburg High School, but came know a variety of West Carrollton teachers via my father. So much for background. I always thought of him as a vibrant and fun person. I know my father had much respect for him. Please accept deep sympathy from me and in behalf of my late father. i think it...
