Murray Mendelsohn

Murray's family and my own lived in the same apartment house on Prospect St. in New Rochelle, NY. One day he was gone, after having being graduated in the Class of '42 at Isaac Young High School. He fought bravely during the Battle of the Bulge and made it back home, where he joined the family business and later opened a branch store in a Paramus, NJ shopping mall. Much time was spent with civic and charitable organizations at which he characteristically would expend time and knowledge. ...

Murray and Marge were great friends to my parents. I interacted with them over a great many years, and they always treated members of my family with kindness and respect. Marge died a number of years ago, and with Murray's passing, another chapter has passed in New Rochelle history. He will be greatly missed by his surviving daughter Karen and his friends.
