Not sure what to say?

I am so deeply saddened to know of Myles' passing. He has been my dear friend for 60 years - and even took me out for my Sweet Sixteenth birthday. I am so proud to have known him and express my deepest sympathy to Cathy and Toby and all others who loved and appreciated him.

May the God of all comfort sustain your family during the days ahead Psalms 119:76

Myles and I were classmates at Georgia Tech, both h receiving our MCP degree in 1981, a bit delayed from our 1967 start, but a good mark of our persistence and dedication to the field. One of my fondest memories of those times was April 9, 1968, when we were released from our studies at Tech so we could join in the march to memorialize the untimely death of Martin Luther King, Jr. While I returned to Oregon to practice planning, Myles and I had a lasting bond.

Myles was my friend for many years, and this news comes as a shock. I saw him in July and never envisioned he would be gone in November. A kind and thoughtful man, he brought joy to my life. Who can't remember his fondness for Halloween, and his shouts of "Happy Halloween" bellowing up and down Sinclair Ave. A happy man, I can't recall him ever *not* smiling. I will miss him. So sorry for Toby and Erika.

As our daughter Brooke is married to Toby, Myles and Ortrude were our colleagues as father and mother-in-law, and in sharing the happiness of our joint family. They loved Toby and Brooke, and they dearly loved their granddaughter Greta. They were wonderful together in life, and they are now together in eternity. We will miss them, and we will remember them fondly. God Bless you Myles,God Bless you Ortrude. Be at peace.

I don't even know what to say. We had lost touch after I moved, but I thought of Myles and Ortrude often. I lived in their home for three years, and it was a truly wonderful place to be. They were like a second family to me when I was there, and Myles took my engagement photos as a gift to my husband and me. They will both always be in my heart, and I am so very fortunate to have known and loved them. Cathy, Toby, and Erika, I am so very sorry for your loss.

We send condolences and best wishes to Myles' family and loved ones from The Mountain Retreat & Learning Center. We are appreciative of the many years Myles was an active and supportive part of our Mountain Community.
