Myrna was born in Texarkana, Texas on May 4, 1938. She is the second of two siblings born to H.E. and Ruth Brooks. She grew up in Texarkana and later attended the University of Texas in Austin. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree with a certificate for secondary education. Her teaching career began in Fabens, Texas where she taught English. That summer she was in Austin to begin her Masters Degree when Mr. Mize met with her and after a very pleasant conversation she agreed to come to Perryton where she spent the next twenty six years teaching.

She is survived by her husband of fifty two years, Leon Alan Bell, of Balko, Oklahoma; her son Alan Brooks Bell and his wife Brenda of Edmond, Oklahoma; a daughter, Susan Bryan Rauch and her husband Peter C. Not sure what to say?

Mrs. Bell was my favorite art teacher of all time. I was thrilled that I was asked to babysit her first born when the parents went out. I've missed her since I grad. in 1965.

Myrna and I graduated in the same high school class in Texarkana, Texas. She was always a very sweet and smart lady with a wonderful smile. Remembering Myrna and her family in my thoughts and prayers.

Myrna was a kind, talented and gracious lady. Our love and condolances to Leon and the family.

Our lives and our arts community have been greatly enriched by the presence of this gentle lady. Countless of her students and friends will remember her with deep love and gratitude for the gifts she shared with all of us.
