Myrtice Stroope

Myrtice Stroope, age 86, of Amity, died Wednesday, April 23, 2003.

She was born on November 4, 1916, at Amity, the daughter of Homer Chancellor and Ella Henson Chancellor. In May of 1978, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alton Stroope. She was also preceded in death by one brother, William Chancellor; and one sister, Lida Nichols.

She was a member of the Sweet Home Church.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Bobbye and Charles Gordon of Amity; two grandsons, Larry Gordon of Rockwall, Texas and Greg Gordon of Sherwood; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ida Grant and Mary Lou Green, both of California and Ozel Williams of Malvern; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, April 26, 2003, in the Sweet Home Church with Rev. John McAnally officiating.

Visitation will be Friday, 6 PM to 8 PM.

Memorials may be made to the Sweet Home Cemetery Fund, c/o Betty Lambert.

Interment will be in the Sweet Home Cemetery, under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood.

Pallbearers will be James Olen Lambert, William Ray Lambert, Albert Lambert, Dewey Lambert, Paul Gordon, and Harmon Richardson.
