Myrtle Wallace Boakes

I was JUST thinking about Mrs. Boakes yesterday! And this arrived in my inbox today. I have so many fond memories of being over at the Boakes' house in Ocean City growing up. She was part of my village growing up. Back then everyone's parents took part in raising you. And, she put up with a lot of our antics. I am so sorry to hear of this news. There are special adults in our lives as we grow up that allow us to be children, but keep a watchful eye out for us so that nothing bad happens. People who are there to pick us up and clean up our cuts when we fall. Myrtle Boakes was one of those caring protectors in my life.

She will live on in my many fond memories of summers in Ocean City.
