Funeral for Myrtle T. Davenport, 77, of Decatur will be today, Feb. 21, 2008, at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Kurtis Stanford officiating.
Burial will be in Clardy Cemetery.
Mrs. Davenport, who died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2008, at her residence, was born April 13, 1930, in Lawrence County to Lumbo and Josie Terry. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening and quilting. Her husband, Willie Davenport, preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, Mike Davenport (Ashley) and Jerry Davenport (Shirley), both of Decatur; two daughters, Betty Davenport of Decatur and Peggy Collins (Bobby) of Eva; two brothers, Robert Lee Terry and Farris Terry, both of Courtland; two sisters, Nora Walden of Decatur and Annie Lee Hughes of Courtland; 10 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews.

WE ARE SORRY ABOUT THE LOST OF SUCH A WONDERFUL WOMAN. SHE WILL BE TRULY MISSED

Mrs. Davenport will be missed greatly by myself and my staff. She was a very nice person and I always enjoyed visiting with her. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family.

I knew Murtle for years but had not seen her recently. I know that she will be missed. I am sorry that I missed her services but illness kept me away. My prayers are with you all, God bless and keep you, S.R.Brackin-Priceville

Myrtle was one of a kind and one of the kindess people I have ever known. She is just special! She was loved by everyone and will be missed by everyone as well! I loved her VERY much!

Ohh.. my aunt Myrtle! She was a hoot!! She was always smiling and could always put a smile on your face.. Besides my daddy(Farris Terry) She was the crazy & fun one of the bunch & everyone loved her! Love and Miss you!
