HARDIN, Myrtle Doris Thune

94 years ago, on Feb. 1, 1915, Myrtle Doris Thune came into the world barely three pounds, a "hank of hair and a bag of bones." She was a survivor who entered this world without the help of the doctor who missed her birth due to a severe snowstorm in Betts,...

Not sure what to say?

Linda & Susan - My heart aches for you as you have lost your mom and your best friend. She was absolutely the best and I adored her. She was a huge inspiration to all who knew her. She was such a lovely lady. She will be missed so much. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

LINDA, SUE, AND STEVE:
I feel so blessed to have known Myrt through the years. She was such an inspiration to all that knew her.
I felt such a loss when myrt passed and also felt what a loss you must feel. I then thought she touched so many people through her long life that feel the same way and I know you are finding that out.

Linda: you had a bond with your mom many kids don't have, and it's not that they don't love their mom, they do. You and Myrt were family, friends...

How do angels celebrate their birthday? You are sure to find out today. Happy Birthday to our favorite little angel on what would have been your 94th!

All of our LOVE,
Linda, Stephen & Cindy and Cal & Susan

Dear Linda,
My heart broke for you when I heard of your mother's passing. When I think of your mom I see you, and when I think of you I see your mom. The two of you were a wonderful team, always together for family gatherings, the happy ones, and lately the gatherings over loss. Both your smiles, hugs, and words of love were just right for the moment. I will miss your mom very much. I hope that you will keep in touch, that would mean so much!
With love, Marie Blanco

Kyle and I moved into Maywood Park next door to Myrtle and Linda in 2003. Little did we know that in just a few short years we'd have gained such amazing friends. I remember seeing Myrtle almost everyday; sometimes it was a simple wave from her front porch when getting the mail, or I'd pop my head over the back fence if I saw her in the backyard working with her flowers, or returning from her usual Wednesday swimming class with Linda, and I couldn't believe how she could walk like nobody's...

How lucky each of us were to share in Myrtle's life. She was such a beautiful example of growning old gracefully.
I met her when I was about 11years old, and her daughter Susie and I were inseparable. She was always so thoughtful and even lent me her Pendleton reversible to wear on the Jeff Dance team. She was always such a generous person. She always gave me beautiful cards and thoughtful gifts. She and Linda would collect beautiful vases and fill them with flowers to give to...

It was always a delight when Linda and Myrtle came into the Backyard Bistro.
We had great visits. They were our friends, not only our customers.
Myrtle was a very special lady. We will miss her smiling face at the Bistro.

Peter and I had the pleasure of Myrtle's company only once. She was the life of the party given to celebrate the marriage of Mike and Julie Klausman. She made a point of speaking to each guest and was a joy to meet. We could not believe Myrtle's energy and zest for life. I hope if we are lucky enough to live to be her age that we will have her spirit.

Great Gramma was a big part of my life. She always gave me awesome little knick-knacks for Christmas. It was so sweet of her to come to the Who School Of Rock show, for me. I wish Great Gramma the best sweet dreams forever.
