Read MoreI had not heard that Myrton had died and wondered when I saw his house was for sale. I was deeply saddened as I had many fond memories of him as my Scoutmaster of Troop 777. The Boy Scouts and Winston-Salem have lost a great man.

I have known Myrton for years, as a Scoutmaster, church member, and one of "Red's Paintin' Crew." Myrton was a very caring individual and had a positive influence on many young people through Scouting. He will be truly missed.
