I had the pleasure of interviewing Larry several times during the past couple of years. He made the most of each moment of his life. To me he was and is a true friend, a mentor and a lifelong inspiration. Barb, Laurie, Kim and his many friends are in my thoughts..

There is something amazingly solid about Minnesota. Whether it passes that to its inhabitants, or gets it from them, there is no doubt Larry personified all that is good about it, and by extension, he gave that to the radio industry (although he was a pretty good TV and theater guy, too). He made an enormous impression on me, I think because he demonstrated that you could be powerful and effective, without needing to dominate a room. Intelligence and manners don't need a marquee. People felt two ways about Larry Bentson; they either liked him or they loved him. Please count me in the latter category.

Larry will be missed by many people. He was a legend that touched many lives including mine. I will treasure shooting pheasents with him in South Dakota and for his passion for radio.
