Read MoreProfessor Hanes inspired me as an environmental scientist and engineer. He mentored me as a high school junior in an NSF summer science program in 1963 at Tufts.
His advice and guidance started me on a lifelong interest in environmental science. He was a wonderful person and teacher.

My condolences to the family. I met Bruce when we inducted him into the ND Beta Chapter of SAE Alumni Hall of Fame at last Homecoming. Being the one who wrote the narrative and did the induction, I was impressed by his accomplishments as well as the accolades provided by his colleagues. I've notified the alumni of the chapter about the passing of Brother Hanes into Chapter Eternal.
