Nadine K. Olson

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of NADINE K. INMAN OLSON, age 86, of Las Cruces on Sunday, May 22, 2016 at Memorial Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Nadine was born April 21, 1930 in Akron, Ohio to Martin Lewis and Hermina Kamrad Inman. Nadine’s strength and sense of adventure led her to move to Washington, D.C. where she worked as a secretary for the Bureau of Ships and met Russell, the love of her life. During their marriage, they lived in Italy, Turkey, and the Marshall Islands. Nadine was the first to give birth to triplets at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. Her career fields included radio, banking, and financial planning. She was an incredible cook, beautiful seamstress, and creative crafter. Nadine served as a Eucharistic Minister and volunteer with the Alter Society of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, taking great pride in making 100 purificators for the church’s 100th anniversary. She was a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi.

Those left to mourn her passing include her loving husband of sixty-two years, Russell Olson; her daughters, Nancy Booth (Bruce) of El Paso, TX, Lynn Murray of Las Cruces, Mary Ann Swerhun (Steven) of Chicago, IL and Mary Beth Fidler (Charles) of Fall Church, VA; one brother, Michael Inman of Berkeley, MI; and a sister, Norene “Toots” Doucette (Grey) of Grand Rapids, MI. Other survivors include her grandchildren, Rusty Booth, Meghan Booth Burford, Kelly Murray Goldstein, Ashley Fidler, Charlie Fidler and Noah Swerhun; great-grandchildren, Scout Booth, Canyon Burford and Camble Burford, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Nadine was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Christine Olson, granddaughter, Amanda Booth, a brother, Martin “Sonny” Inman, and son-in-law, Jeffrey Murray.

Visitation for Mrs. Olson will begin at 6 PM Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at Baca’s Funeral Chapels, 300 E. Boutz Road where the Prayer Vigil is scheduled for 7 PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 AM Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine and Parish, 3600 Parroquia Street in Tortugas with the Reverend Valentine Jankowski, Celebrant. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 5140 W. Picacho Avenue where she will be laid to rest in the family plot.

Serving as casket bearers will be Charlie and Chuck Fidler, Rusty Booth, Michael Inman, Steve and Noah Swerhun, Dan Inman and George Ortiz.
