WILGUS, Nahrea Coleman, 86, of Richmond, passed away Friday, March 14, 2008. "Rea," as she was known by family and friends, was born and raised in Crewe, Va. and was a graduate of Longwood State Teachers' College (Longwood University). Rea taught high school in Blackstone where she met Lt. Kenneth A. Wilgus, who was stationed at Camp Pickett. Following their marriage, Rea and Ken lived all of their married life in Richmond where they were active members of the Westover Hills United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge # 14 and Eastern Star Manchester #53. Rea was also a longtime member of the Windsorview Garden Club. Rea taught kindergarten in the Richmond Public Schools for 20 years, much of that time at Summerhill Elementary School. Rea was preceded in death by Kenneth A. Wilgus, her husband of nearly 50 years; her mother and father, Lena and George Coleman of Crewe; and her sister, Virginia Porter of Roanoke. She is survived by two nieces, Connie Paul and Pat Ebbett. Also surviving are Jim Paul, Connie's husband and very special person to Rea; two great-nieces, Whitney Paul Garner and Gina Ebbett Kelly; and a great-nephew, Jim Paul Jr. and their families. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. on Thursday at Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rte. 10).
