Nancy passed away unexpectedly on February 11 at the age of 53. She was born in Palo Alto, California and was a 7th generation native Californian from Santa Clara Valley.
Nancy was an alumna of Foothill College and San Jose State University. She was a member of the National Pharmacy Technician Association (NPTA) since 2000 with certificates in Sterile IV and Compounding and licensed to practice in both California and Nationally.
Nancy served the public as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) from 1985 through 2013 with employment at Longs Drugs, Walgreens, Adobe Animal Hospital and Santa Clara Drug – The Compounding Shop. She became a part time faculty member in the Pharmacy Technician Program at Foothill College in 2002. Her work was her passion as well as the colleagues and students that crossed her path. She had a special relationship with each of them. Her family had an inside consultant and strong advocate at their finger tips. Nancy's work ethic was exemplary.
Nancy was an avid sports enthusiast. While attending Foothill College she threw the javelin and went on to the Sacramento State Trials two years in a row. She loved cats, had a wry sense of humor, and always put her family first.
She was preceded in death by her mother Loris, both sets of grandparents and her niece Lori. She is survived by her father (C.Z. Pat), her 2nd mother (Rosalie), sisters Kathy (Karl), June and Linda (Bill), brothers Pat (Barbara) and Tom (Lillian), an Aunt (Skip), nephew (Eric) and great nephew (Will), two nieces Cheryl (Joe) and Meghan and numerous cousins. Her legacy will continue on through her family and the students she has taught.
A private interment has already been held at Oak Hill. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial celebration at Foothill College, Middlefield Campus, 400 Middlefield Road Suite I in Palo Alto, CA 94303 on Saturday, March 14 at 1pm with a reception to follow. Details will also be posted on the Foothill-De Anza College website, Pharmacy Technician Program.
