Nancy Ashton Obituary

Nancy Batchelona Ashton passed away November 10, 2014, at the age of 88. She was a resident of Chalmette, LA, for 55 years until moving to New Orleans in 2006. Mrs. Ashton was the daughter of the late Dominick Batchelona and Margaret Campagna Batchelona. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Patrice Ashton Brewer. Mrs. Ashton is survived by one grandson, William Edward Ashton II; two granddaughters, Shelby Shawn Fabre and Miranda Ashton Moring; one sister, Anna Barcelona; one brother, Dominick Batchelona, Jr.; her devoted nephew and Godson, Alcide J. Hunter (Gayle); two nieces, her Godchild Margaret Dick Lefeve (Calvin) and Celeste Dick Prestenbach; three great nieces, Leslie Lefeve Burke, Ashley Hunter Ard (Anthony), and Alexis Hunter; and one great-great niece, Isabella Grace Ard. The family wishes to thank the staff of Woldenberg independent living and nursing facilities for the loving care and respect that was given to Mrs. Ashton during the last 8 years of her life. Their efforts on her behalf are greatly appreciated and will long be remembered. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass in the chapel of ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 Virtue St., Chalmette, LA, on Monday, December 1, 2014, at 12:00 P.M. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. and continue until the time of the Funeral Mass.
