BALBONI, Nancy Eva, 56, of Richmond, died Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at home. Born March 11, 1955 in San Antonio, Texas, she was the loving daughter of the late Louis J. Balboni and Elizabeth Lee Tyree. She grew up in Baltimore, Md. and graduated from Longwood College in 1977. Her career began and ended at The University of Richmond, first as the Assistant Catering Director and then as Guest Artist Service Manager for the Modlin Arts Center. She devoted her life to her job, her friends, and her family, touching so many lives with her special kindness. There was nothing that her artfully tied ribbon couldn't make better. She is survived by her three siblings and their partners, Betty and Charles Fuquay of Verona,Va., Laura and John Merriman of Bloomfield, N.J., and Frederick Balboni and Geoffrey Collins of New York, N.Y.; four nieces and nephews, Charles Fuquay Jr., Michael Fuquay, Annie Merriman, and Jack Merriman. The family will receive friends on Wednesday December 28, 2011 at the Gottwald Atrium following a 3 p.m. Memorial Service at the Cannon Memorial Chapel on the campus of The University of Richmond. My heart is heavy this morning learning of Nancy's too early exit from this life. Nancy & I worked for almost 10 yrs together @ PM. Over the years she spoke proudly of her family & fondly of her nieces & nephews. All of us who worked with her & knew her from PM felt as if we knew you, especially "lil" Jack.
