Nancy J. Barrett

Lancaster - Nancy Jane Barrett, 75 passed away on November 18th, 2018. She was born on September 8th, 1943 in Camden, New Jersey to Stanley Dale Fulkerson and Eva Jones Fulkerson. She graduated from Oak Ridge Tennessee High School in 1961. Her father was an engineer with the Manhattan Project and her mother a school teacher. She graduated from the College of Nursing of the University of Cincinnati. In 1966 she married Dr. James Barrett. Her nursing experience included med-surg nursing, medical intensive care, emergency room, and in Lancaster, High school nurse, visiting nurse and hospice nurse. She served on the Board of Trustees of the YMCA and Lancaster Chorale, was an after school tutor at West School and a Deacon of the First Presbyterian Church. She hosted many musicians for the Lancaster Festival from its inception.

Nancy is survived by her loving husband, Dr. James Barrett; daughter, Nicole Ann Barrett (Dr. James Stewart), granddaughters, Emily Koa and Grace Amiri of Vancouver B.C. Canada; son, Mark Daniels Barrett (Dr. Inca Chui) and grandson Leon Miles Barrett of Portland, Oregon; sisters, Leathea (James) Stewart of Carlisle, Ohio and Rea Marie Fulkerson of Columbus, Ohio; her surviving in laws are, Karen (Dr. Stan) Chism, of Palo Alto California and Dr. Shari Barrett (Dr. Jack Deepe) of Evansville, Indiana.

A Memorial Church Service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church (222 N. Broad St. Lancaster, Ohio) on Saturday December 8th, 2018 at 11AM. A reception is to follow the funeral services at the church. Burial is to take place at Forest Rose Cemetery. Arrangements have been made through the HALTEMAN-FETT & DYER FUNERAL HOME.

In lieu of flowers donations may be given to either FairHoPe Hospice or the First Presbyterian Church.
