Nancy Powers Breeden
Nancy Powers Breeden, 70, of Charlottesville, passed away on Friday, January 14, 2011.
She was born on March 4, 1940, the daughter of Stuart E. and Elizabeth W. Powers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former son-in-law, Rodney C. Fitzhugh.
Nancy is survived by her two daughters, Laura Fitzhugh and her boyfriend, Jonathan E. Travers, of Zion Crossroads and Robin Grinnell and her husband, Michael, of Crozet; two grandchildren, Matthew Stuart Grinnell and his wife, Sarah, of Sterling, and Amy Grinnell James and her husband, Luke, of Lynchburg; a great-granddaughter, Bethany Grinnell; her former husband, John A. Breeden; a sister, Betty Tunstall of Roanoke; a brother, Stuart Blackwell Powers of Charlottesville; and close relatives, Rae Hamm of Keswick and Judy Breeden of Charlottesville.
In her youth, Nancy attended First Methodist Church of Charlottesville.
She co-owned and operated King Lindsay Printing Corporation with her former husband, John A. Breeden.
Nancy was a devoted "Mamaw" to her grandchildren. She was a lover of books and Nags Head.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the nurses and doctors of the 5th floor of Martha Jefferson Hospital.
In accordance with Nancy's wishes, the family will host a time of sharing and memories to celebrate her life. This memorial gathering will be held 6 p.m., Wednesday, January 19, 2011, at the Teague Funeral Home.

I am so sorry to hear about Nancy I grew up with John and first met Nancy while her and John were dating. She was a great person and will be missed. I will try and make it Wednesday I have some health problems and have a hard time getting around. I will say a prayer for Nancy and Family and if I can help in any way just let me know. I know she will be goping to a better place and god will look after her
