Gaffney Parsons Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc - Village of Johnson Obituary

Nancy C. D'Amelio, 90, of Mt. Bethel, PA passed away Tuesday, July 30th, at her home surrounded by her family.

Nancy was born in Paterson, NJ on December 6, 1933, a daughter of the late John and Catherine (Hanley) Bollinger.

She was the wife of the late Edward J. D'Amelio who passed away in 1972.  They moved to Lionshead Lake in Wayne, NJ where they raised five children, Neal, Edward, Nancy, Angela, and Patricia.

Nancy was employed as a postal worker for the US Postal Services in Ridgewood and Lafayette, NJ, until retiring in 1999.

She had many friends at the lake and many friends in Mount Bethel where she lived for 33 years. When her children were young she was always running around taking her boys to baseball games and her girls to colorguard “the Palettes” where she volunteered.  In Mount Bethel, she was a member of the fire company’s ladies' auxiliary where she enjoyed volunteering at every event at the firehouse.

Nancy is survived by a daughter, Nancy, wife of Chris, two sons Neal, and Ed, husband of Mary, ten grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Nancy was preceded in death by two daughters Angela and Patricia.  We know that she’s in heaven with them now. She will be sadly missed.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 4 to 8 PM on Monday, August 5th at Gaffney Parsons Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 4 Lillian Lane "Village of Johnsonville" Bangor, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM on Tuesday, August 6th at St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church, 286 Haledon Ave., Prospect Park, NJ.  Burial will be held at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa, NJ. Online condolences may be offered at gaffneyparsons.com.
