Not sure what to say?

As a young student at Dawes School I remember Mrs. Dolbeare with clarity. She was my favorite teacher of all time. It seems that years can go by with just moments coming back, time after time. One moment was during recess. There seemed to be no reason for her comment when she said, "you will be an artist." I loved art and lived art. But to hear someone say that to me had a powerful impact. I'm not quite sure what brought the statement about other than her beautiful spirit. It may seem so...

I just learned of Nancy's death through a friend. It was a pleasure to know Nancy and see her frequently at choir practices and Town Players meetings and plays. My condolences to your family on the loss of this wonderful woman. I hope that your fond (and no doubt, funny) memories of her will help to ease the sorrow you now feel.

I just learned of Nancy's death and am so sorry to have missed attending the funeral service. I met Nancy singing in the Stockbridge Singers of the Old Corner House chorus in the spring of 1976 (we were both altos) and sang with her for decades thereafter. Nancy also taught my daughter Elizabeth fourth grade, for which I was very grateful. I still have the gift Nancy gave me at the 1983 baby shower for my daughter, and hope to pass it on to any future grandchildren. Nancy was a special...

So sorry for you loss. Mr.s Dolbeare was a teacher of mine from many years ago at Dawes School. She was an amazing person and will always have great memories of her and her smile. She will be missed by many.

My condolences to Nancy's family. I worked with Nancy at Egremont school many years ago. She was a beacon of positivity to staff and students alike, and was a kind and generous spirit...

So sorry four loss. I worked with Nancy at Egremont School! She was a wonderful teacher who truly loved children. She set a positive example for all to follow.

I was so sorry to hear of Nancy's passing. I taught with her for many years at Egremont School and she was my son's fourth grade teacher. On my first day of teaching at Egremont Nancy was the first person to welcome me with a big hug. She had such a joyful, beautiful spirit and I never saw her without a smile.
As a teacher, she was second to none. She was able to find and cultivate her students' talents. She always found the best in them. She will be missed.
Rest in peace Nancy.

Rest in peace Mrs. Dolbeare. My heart sank when I read your obituary. As an elementary school teacher you were the high water mark. You had such a wonderful smile, you were honest, fair, and one of the kindest souls I have ever met. The positive impression you made on me is ever lasting. - Dr. Joel F. Cooper

Sincere condolences to all who loved Nancy. Arguably, this list would include everyone who met her. Nancy delighted in life and spread her warmth, laughter, and kindness throughout her journey.

All the modern tests will never be able to measure what Nancy gave her students. She brought out their very best qualities. It was remarkable to see how calm, kind, and gentle her classes behaved.

I'm so very grateful that I knew Nancy.
