On this your special day
But today I've hit a wall
I just don't know what to say

For more than 60 years

There will be no knock at the door
No flowers to be delivered
Your smile and laughter no more
Today, your Birthday remembered

Thinking of birthdays past
When flowers were everywhere
Their beauty unsurpassed
Their aroma filled the air

Today no roses are to be found
No thorns to prick your hand
No cards scattered all around
For here you no longer stand

The Family Chain is broken now
