Nancy Hall Murphy Elliott, 75, passed away on Wednesday, June 2, 2010, in the Smyth County Community Hospital in Marion, Va. She was born on June 20, 1934, to the late John Roy and Minnie Lee Flanagan Hall. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, John J. Murphy; two sons, Tedd A. Murphy and James Roy Hall; and a brother Herman H. "Buddy" Hall. She worked 33 years as a Registered Nurse for Doctors Patterson, Walker and Eller. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Marion, Va. She is survived by her husband, Thomas "Bob" Elliott, of Marion, Va.; her sisters, Frances H. Harmon and husband, DeVere, of Johnsburg, Ill., Virginia H. "Granny" McFarlane, of Marion, Va., and Opal H. "Judy" Radcliffe and husband, Pearl, of Fort Gay, W.Va.; two grandsons, Jason Roy Murphy, of Abingdon, Va., and Justin Sanders Murphy, of Wytheville, Va.; a stepdaughter, Kimberly Reasoner and husband, Scott, of Green Village, Colo.; two stepsons, Steve Elliot, of Knoxville, Tenn., and Chris Elliott, of Atlanta, Ga.; four stepgrandchildren, Victoria and Scott Reasoner, and Taylor and Jake Elliott; and a special friend, Donna Farmer. Funeral services will be held 8 p.m. on Saturday, June 5, 2010, at the Bradley's Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Harry Howe and the Rev. Mike Teague officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. An entombment service will be held 10 a.m. on Sunday morning, June 6, 2010, at the Rosewood Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Rural Retreat with the Rev. Harry Howe and the Rev. Herman Cress officiating. Bobby, We are so sorry for your loss of Nancy. We are son and daughter in law of Ethel and Ab Lester. Nancy has been to our house several times. You are in our prayers. Please get in touch.
