Mrs. Nancy Carol Foxworth, 51, wife of Mark W. Townsend, passed away suddenly after a brief illness, on the afternoon of Saturday, August 14, 2021, at MUSC Health Marion in Marion.


Nancy was born May 18, 1970, in Marion County, a daughter to Troy L. “Sam” Foxworth, Jr. and Linda Woodberry Foxworth. She was a graduate of Lake View High School. She was retired. Nancy loved all animals, especially her horses, and would go above and beyond to help all she could. Nancy was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church in Fork.


Surviving Nancy in addition to her husband of the home, Mark W. Townsend are her Parents, Troy L. “Sam” and Linda Woodberry Foxworth, Jr. of Fork; her Sister: Susan Foxworth (Metz) Grant of Fork; her Brother: Troy Lee “Sam” Foxworth, III of Fork; her Sister-in-Law: Mitzi (Mike) Martin of Mullins; a Niece: Lauren Martin; and her Nephews: Metz Grant, Jr. and Michael Martin; and her Beloved Fur Babies: Precious and Chewy.


Visitation will be held Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. in the Fellowship Hall of Mullins First Baptist Church, we ask that visitors please follow the Church’s Covid guidelines while inside the Church.


A graveside service will be held Tuesday afternoon, August 17 at 2:00 P.M. in Hopewell Cemetery, off Highway 41 on Buck Swamp Road in Fork, directed by Cox-Collins Funeral Home.


In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to the Hopewell Cemetery Fund, 3915 Highway 41 Alt., Fork, SC 29543 or to an Animal Shelter of one’s choice in the memory of Nancy.

I'm saddened to learn of this, Mark. My wife died suddenly after I retired, and I feel the despair and grief for you now. I found comfort in telling my story to others and in prayer and singing gospel songs. I'll be earnestly praying for you, and trust the Lord will likewise comfort you with His peace.
