Not sure what to say?

I was out of town when Nancy died and recently learned through a mutual friend. I remember her when I was staff nurse at UH. She was a force for Nursing. We developed a friendship through Charlene several years ago when I came back to UH. I loved her stories. She like Charlene was a champion for nursing and influenced the culture of excellence and leadership.

I was just preparing a Christmas card for Nancy when I learned of her passing. We shared enjoyable times at Charles Mill Lake. I will miss my friend.

I´ll always think of Nancy as the epitome of a dynamo. She and Charlene´s friendship touched and inspired me. They made the world a better place.

I'm so sad to hear of Nancy's passing. Nancy was such a kind lady and very passionate about her nursing background. She was one of my favorite clients here at the bank. I am going to miss our wonderful conversations. Will see you again one day, my friend. It was a blessing knowing you for the past 8 yrs.

My dear friend Nancy. You were always kind and helpful when I came to Nursing at University hospitals as a new RN.Thank you for all you taught me and bless both you and Charlene for your great leadership of Nursing at University Hospitals,

The Northeast Ohio Nurse Honor Guard extends its sincere condolences to the family and friends of Nurse Nancy Gorenshek. We thank her for her contribution to caring for others and representing the nursing profession with trust, dignity and respect. Your nurse colleagues will take over from here. Rest in peace Nancy.

I spent the first 20 years of my 53 year Nursing career at University Hospital/ Rainbow Babies and Children´s´. Nancy (and Charlene) stand out in my fond memories of the most outstanding Nursing leaders and educators I ever encountered. They encouraged and supported Nursing innovation. I´d love to be a fly on the wall of that heavenly reunion. Rest in well deserved peace, Nancy.

Nancy was my first boss at my first adult job at University Hospitals. To say she influenced countless nurses would be an understatement. Along with her colleagues, Nancy was the backbone of the med-surg nursing department at UH. UH has always been known for its nurses and people like Nancy are the reason why. My condolences to family and friends. Ellen Moir Mastrangelo

Nancy was entirely committed to excellent patient care, as was Charlene Phelps. Nancy was very generous with what she had. She never missed making an annual fund gift to Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing at CWRU.
