"Nurse Nancy" Bay City, Michigan The daughter of the late Paul and Ella (Ruppel) Griebel passed away Tuesday December 29, 2009 after a long and courageous battle with cancer at the St. Francis Home in Saginaw. Age 78 years. Nancy was born on July 25, 1931 in Sheboygan, WI and moved to Bay City with her family in 1942. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Frankenlust and sang in the church choir. She was proud of the fact that she had sung for sixty seven consecutive years in the annual Christmas Song Service until her illness presented her from doing so this year. Nancy graduated from Bay City Central High School in 1949 and from the University of Michigan in 1952. She loved babies, children and much of her nursing career centered around caring for children. Nancy was the head nurse in Bay City Mercy Hospital Newborn Nursery and also worked in Labor and Delivery. She was a pediatric nurse for Dr. Chapin and retired from the Bay County Health Dept. 1993 as a visiting nurse after twenty seven years of service. Ann and Elwin Snyder

Ann and I are both saddened and grateful at the passing of our beloved cousin. Saddened that she is no longer with us but grateful that she is no longer in pain. She was loved and will be missed. May she be at rest with our Lord.

I was saddened to hear that Nancy has left us, though I am sure she is in a better place. I know my godmother, Marge (her sister) and so many others will miss her very much.

Marge and Nancy would stop at our home near Phoenix to visit when they were on their travels to and from Yuma, Arizona. I always enjoyed our time together. Marge and Nancy always had gifts for the kids. One year Nancy gave my girls beaded socks that she had made.

God...

Hello from Austin Texas. I wish to express my sincere sympathy, to my cousin Marge, and the rest of the family.
Nancy was my Godmother. I am Walter and Eleanor's youngest daughter Marcia.
The last time I saw Nancy she gave me two tiny Christmas Ornaments for the birth our twins that were born in 1985.
They will be 25 years old in Febuary.
She had actually had them for a year or two before she saw me and she felt bad that she had not mailed them to me.
I have a watch...
