Rest In Peace my dear friend and colleague Nancy Gruber, who was an amazing and inspiring woman. Nancy was a tremendous help to me in our work on the CultureWatch newsletter, a monthly publication monitoring right-wing movements. Nancy was a life-long activist, accomplished musician,radical librarian, dead-on copy editor, mother, wife, grandmother, and who, in at least the time we worked together at Oakland's DataCenter, didnt suffer fools lightly.

I first met Nancy at the Bennington Chamber Music Conference when she came with Sam Gruber. From that time onward I found her a delightful friend and a fun musical companion. Over the years I recall many trio and quartet sessions in VT, CT and NYC, drinks before dinner in Bennington dorm rooms, birthday parties, a memorable music party at her apartment on West End Avenue where she served five alarm chili (love that name!), political debates, and her bringing Mort--an ever enthusiastic...
