Not sure what to say?

I was so sorry to read of Nancy's passing. Mrs. Hays was a wonderful lady, who I first met as Jean's college friend. I enjoyed visiting with her and found her so easy to talk to. I can hear her laugh just thinking about her. I was lucky enough to work with her in summer school one year while in college. I learned so much from her and she reinforced my desire to be a teacher. When I became a teacher I recalled and used things that she had modeled that summer.
My heart goes out to Jean,...

We will remember Nancy as a lady with an infectious smile and gracious ways. To cousin John and the whole family, we send our love and heartfelt condolences. Certainly the world is a better place for all the good Nancy gave.

Jean, Sally, Jim and Tom...My thoughts are with you all at this time...I will always have fond memories of growing up with your family and love you all very much take care and find strength through each other at this time...Janell Hakanson

Nancy was a very loving, caring person. We think of her especially as a fantastic teacher when our daughter, Brenda, had her at Shaver. She got to know Brenda as a "real" person. She gave Brenda a tiny Siamese kitten that became a loyal friend. We knew all the Hays kids as great kids because of Nancy's love. We also loved the Christmas letters she would send every year to keep in touch. A beautiful woman that the entire family should be so proud to call their own.
Our love to Jean,...

Nancy was my mentor while working in West Linn. She encouraged me to become an school administrator. Her tenacity for getting things done and breath of knowledge were just a few of the traits that made her such a successful educator. I am saddened to hear of her passing. Blessings to her family!

Nana, you are much loved!

I love you mom. I respect you. You are great with children. You gave the educational community your life. You were all about children. I love you for that. Thank you for being you, thank you for being my mom, and know that I will miss you and always love you. Sal.

Nancy was a good friend for 30 years and we spent many hours talking about life, our families, and at times seeking advice from each other. Nancy was always understanding and helpful and, when necessary, even corrected my English!! We shared our homes, our meals, our laughter and even our animals were friends. Above all, she loved her husband, John, and her family. We will miss her. Sandy and Jack

I am so sorry to hear about Nancy. She hired me the second year Boeckman was open. She was an incredible lady and I loved teaching under her leadership. She touched many lives and I feel lucky to have been one of those she touched.
