Nancy Jean Grothe Head passed away peacefully on April 29, 2021 in Orlando FL. She was born in Kewanee Illinois, the daughter of Frances Elaine and Robert Frederick Grothe. She is survived by her children Teri-Lynne Head Johansson (Kjell), Tracy Ann Head, Robert John Head (Georgette), and John Leslie Head III, her grandchildren Amanda Johansson, Christopher Johansson, David Johansson, and Julia Head Herrick (Dakota), her siblings Lynne Ann O'Hara (Drew) and Gary Robert Grothe (Barbara), her nieces and nephew Dawn O'Hara Stuckey, Leigh O'Hara Martin (Mark), Andrew O'Hara (Lisa), and Vicki Siedlack (James), and two very special lifelong friends Bob and Judy Berghult.

Nancy grew up in Cocoa Beach FL and was a 1959 graduate of Cocoa High School where she was a varsity cheerleader. Nancy worked at a dress boutique and competed in various beauty pageants. In 1958, she was chosen ""Miss Satellite"" at the Cocoa Pilot Club Home Show. She married John Leslie Head Jr in 1959 and followed her dream to raise a family. She later worked at Harris Corporation and NASA as an Executive Administrator, a field of work she was very proud of and highly respected for.

Nancy will be remembered for her love of family and pets, her understanding of youth and elderly, her innate ability to listen, her humbleness, her wit and comebacks, her positivity, her love of rock and roll music, showing up the best-dressed to all events, and her fabulous cooking.

A celebration of life will be held in August. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the SPCA of Brevard.
