Not sure what to say?

I came to know Nancy soon after she and Louis were married: I had known the Hector family for years and we had many of the same friends. I flatter myself that Nancy and I shared, from the outset, some--let's call them "notions" in common. It was, however, at the Miami International Airport, that our real spiritual bonding began. Years ago we were both heading out for New York LaGuardia, and Nancy was carrying by hand to family and friends in the city a brown paper sack full of South Dade,...

I was honored to serve with Nancy on the Planned Parenthood of Greater Miami board so many years ago. Her sense of responsibility, wisdom, progressive nature, humor, graciousness, friendship and humanity deeply impressed me. It was an honor to serve with her and Ed Swenson whose time on this earth also came to an end this week. These were certainly two fine souls that helped to give a generation in which they lived, the monicher of the "greatest generation". While in the scheme of things,...

Nancy and I served on the board of Planned Parenthood of Greater Miami together for many years. She was a fascinating worldly character and yet the most down-to-earth person I ever met. I wonder what ever happened to that old station wagon she drove for so many years? Her dedication to Planned Parenthood was remarkable. She will be missed.

What a sad day it is to discover our lovely friend Nancy will not answer our birthday call on September the 8th. I sat on the Board of St. Alban's with Nancy before she recruited me to join her little tennis group at the Hector court. Those were golden days and we knew it as we lived them.
Eli and I cherished our friendship with Nancy and Louis and the world is a much poorer place without them both. They were two very elegant and eloquent friends who we will miss forever.

'Nancy Bean' as she was known to us, was such an elegant, beautiful woman. Growing up in the country in Connecticut, I especially loved visiting her in New York. I vividly remember my first trip in on my own at around 13. Nan was also a wonderful Godmother and Aunt. I chose my college, in Millbrook, so I could be close to her at her weekend retreat. I also cherish the time I spent with her there. I will miss her terribly.

What a delightful person "Little Nancy" was. I will remember her as a wonderful hostess, a lovely friend, and a peron who was passionate about everything - and one who did not suffer fools gladly! And our tennis games will not be forgotten - Rest in peace, dear Nancy.
