Not sure what to say?

I just came across the newspaper notice of Nancy's death and was reminded of how much I enjoyed having known her. We were in a Book Club together for 10 years. She was an inspiration in her creativity and love of learning. I was not able to attend her services but want her children and grandchildren to know that they were always foremost in her thoughts in the midst of her many activities. You were very blessed.

I knew Nancy through the quilt guild several years ago. She was a delightful person to work with. We travelled together a few times, and I always enjoyed the time I spent with her. You have my deepest sympathy for your loss.

Would Nancy's daughter Liz please contact me. I'd like to share with the family the wonderful comments and remembrances posted on Facebook and that I received privately in e-mail. They will surely warm your heart as they did mine.

It can be so hard to face the first year without your loved one, but the love of family and friends can carry you through.

To Dave and the rest of the Hornback family, I am sorry for your loss. The house on Circle Drive was so full of life when I was growing up, but there was always room for one more. Thank you, Nancy.

I met Nancy back in the 1960s in La Leche League. What a wonderful role model she was for motherhood! Also, my late husband Dale, worked with Nancy's husband Terry, so I was able to keep up with their family's news. My sincere sympathies go out to Terry and all the children and grandchildren. Your wife and mother was something truly special! May God bless and comfort you all.

Dear Hornback family -- Nancy was an inspiration to me. I admired her energy and enthusiasm for everything she was involved in and I have warm memories of her hospitality at your beautiful home. Her wonderful kids are a testament to what an amazing woman she was and I will always hold her memory close to my heart. I have a beautiful quilt that she stitched and will continue to talk about the great woman who made it whenever I show it off to friends. Love and peace to you as you live out her...

A wonderfully caring woman and a dear quilt historian friend. You were greatly missed the last few years at our research conferences. You set such an incredible example of how to endure physical adversity with graciousness and dignity. Rest in peace, dear friend.
