We have lost a treasure. Gibbey was that and more. I had the pleasure of getting to know Gibbey in the kitchen at St. John's where she was in one of her many elements. She and I, both being caterers, once prepared a parish dinner together for Father Ralston on the occasion of an anniversary. Always a lady, she was also a character; with a razor-sharp mind and a witty personality, she kept boredom and weariness far from the scene. I don't believe I ever enjoyed a "cookfest" more in my life....
