Nancy was most recently the facilities manager at Upper Crust Enterprises, but was best known as a volunteer extraordinaire around Little Tokyo. She is survived by her parents, Yasuo and May Kikuchi; sisters, Donna (Marty) Hernandez and June (Lonnie) Akers; and nieces and nephew Marissa and Alana Hernandez, and Janna and Jake Akers. She is also survived by many relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 20, at 1:30 p.m. at Higashi Honganji Buddhist Temple, 505 E. 3rd St. in Los Angeles. Donations are requested in lieu of flowers to Nancy's favorite Little Tokyo non-profit organizations: Little Tokyo Service Center, Japanese American Cultural and Community Center and the Koban. Not sure what to say?

Nancy worked tirelessly to make the world a better place, especially Little Tokyo. I volunteered at the Tofu Festival because of Nancy. And I am proud to be a JET alumnus because of Nancy. She galvanized people into action. I will miss her.

I learned of Nancy's passing today, and I am saddened by the news. I wish the Kikuchi family peace during this time. Nancy was a fantastic person!

My deepest sympathies to the entire Kikuchi family. I am shocked and saddened by Nancy's passing. I will remember her always for her smile and gentle, joking ways at Japanese School. Much love to you all…and rest in peace, dear Nancy.
