Nancy Knox
Mar. 17, 1944 - Oct. 14, 2008
Our beloved Nancy Knox, age 64, passed away suddenly in her Stockton home on October 14, 2008. Nancy was born in Boston, MA on March 17, 1944 to Neil and Evelyn Burgess. She was loved by many. She was a registered nurse for many years and had a unique ability to provide comfort to others. A true humanitarian, Nancy had an incredible sense of humor and exuberance for life. She was an avid reader and a fabulous cook. Nancy spent many hours of contentment tending to her lovely garden and caring for her beloved animals.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter Paige Knox, daughter-in-law Dana Knox, and former husband Chris Knox. She is survived by her sons, David Knox (Dawn Taylor) and Todd Knox; sisters Cindy Luchow, Wendy Bastin, Susan Burgess, and brother Mark Burgess. She leaves behind her precious grandchildren, Sam, Kasey, Caryn, Jamie, Amy and many adored nieces and nephews. She loved them dearly and talked about them often. She also leaves behind her devoted companion Ray Weisz. Nancy will always be remembered and eternally loved by her Ya Ya Sisterhood. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial celebration of her life at DeYoung Shoreline Chapel, 7676 Shoreline Drive, Stockton at 1 p.m. on Thursday October 30th.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Nancy's death. I have so many wonderful memories of Nancy and I at Concord Elementary (before we hit Indian Hill). We lived down the street from each other and had great adventures together!!!!! I loved her. My sincere sympathies to her children and her siblings. My best to you, Susan....you were a great friend as well.

To Todd and David and your families, and Ray, my heart goes out to you at this sad time. Nancy was my best friend in jr. high at Indian Hill and I spent many, many nights babysitting with her the younger brother and sisters on Kugler Mill Rd. We had great times and have kept up with each other ever since. She was such a thoughtful and sentimental person and never forgot my birthday even after all of these years. I am so sorry for your loss and our loss as she has many, many friends who will miss her deeply. You have my deepest sympathy. Sincerely, Donna Dericks Schoder

I met Nancy when I started working for the County, June 1989, and I instantly liked her, and knew what a good and kind person she was immediately. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this very difficult time. I miss her.

Such a sad bit of news. Nancy was my high school sweetheart and buddy for three and a half years at Indian Hill High School. A beautiful and fun loving little blond.
I had not talked to Nancy for sometime and for some reason I called her in the past month. We talked for over an hour.
I will always have fond memories and appreciate the great times Nancy and I shared. My sincerest sympathy to her family.
Sincerely,
Dan Wollaeger.

My condolences to Nancy's sons, whom she adored, family and to Ray. I had the privilege of knowing and working with Nancy at Crestwood shortly after she moved to Stockton & maintained our friendship over the years. She was a delightful, exuberant and caring person who was devoted to her patients and co-workers alike. She will be greatly missed.

I worked with Nancy at MHS. She was a gifted nurse who gave her all to help those less fortunate. She was genuine and never full of herself; instead she was full with love and compassion. She was the ultimate warm and fuzzy. She was there for me everyday listening to my trials as a divorced mother of two sons. She taught me how to prepare scalloped potatoes with ham!
I'll hadn't seen her in two years, but my heart is still heavy and I feel the earth's void without her dynamic presence. I love you Nan and I'll will forever cherish my memories of you.
